You might provide pictures of the back and inside the back cover and the movement itself. The movement serial numbers can help to narrow down the exact year of production.

I believe that its the Ref 27 made in the mid 40s I love this watch it

is both simple an yet filled with subtle elements. I love the YG hands and numerals.

VC also made some versions in two tone cases where the bezzel was in gold, either yellow or rose gold.

Here is a scan of a two tone case model I recently saw

welcome to the Lounge

Very Nice, I prefer yours to the YG

The dial is so elegant and clean.  Thats a classic that will never go out of style.  Wear it in good health.

Best regards,

Dino

I hate to go against Alex...

But to my eyes this looks like a Reference 4217. Bill
Maybe but the Ref 4217 has a thinner

bezzel and this one seems to have a rather large bezzel. But I could be wrong as we are judging on photos

Nice watch, MadDog! I really like the clean dial, and I do like the use of the two tone metals (this one actually comes as a surprise to me, because on paper this is something I am not too found of). So congratulations (even though you've had the watch for a while), and welcome to the Lounge - you'll find it to be the nicest place on the web!
Very nice watch!! when did the cross logo appear on the face then?

Stunning watch. I love classic elegant watches... Mine has same hands, same small seconds subdial.

I have one question for the historians out there: I was surprised not to see the cross logo on the face of the watches shown in this thread, which prompts me to ask: when did they start putting these on the dials?

Thanks.

The Maltese Cross logo was regularly used on the dials starting the 50
