Mais trop court! It seemed you had a lot more to say. But you came across excellently well, honest, forthright, open and sincere. I really did want to see and hear more. Nice watch BTW! cheeky Best wishes, Joseph

You came across great Alex - classy without being pretentious (as many luxury brand spokespersons have a habit of being in interviews).  Next time pull out the KISS t-shirt and you'll come across as being even more down to Earth cheeky
I'll even...

change clothes
Image Control
10/23/2012 - 19:23
The discussion of image control was very relevant.  I suspect there is always tension between control and transparency that must create many internal conflicts.  In this respect, Alex's leadership is most essential for maintaining a healthy long-term social media strategy, obviously with support of key people all the way to the top yes. Maybe tangental to this topic, but History is an important part of the reason why VC feels personal to me, like a family rather than a brand.  Unlike others with manufactured histories, VC's long uninterrupted links to the past makes it very difficult for for any generation of management to radically manipulate the brand, either through marketing or product development.  OTOH, the same sense of history allows enthusiasts in possession of a timepiece to feel as intellectual, even spiritual, shareholders and entitled to our voice.  This "democratic" ethic is very nicely accomodated through social media! Sorry for my ramble but I feel this very strongly heart
Well said, Dean.....

And a very thoughtful ramble. :-) Bill

Good ramble! I get the same feeling with VC which is why I have the "Secrets" on the way to really flesh out my knowledge of the brand. When you refer to "manufactured history" are we referring to AP/PP or others? Just curious.
100% agree Dean

Great job Alex!
10/24/2012 - 17:43
P.S.  I am transparently jealous of the watch that you are wearing!  cheeky
Thanks for the heads-up, Velvet and "Good job!" to our Jefe!
10/24/2012 - 19:36
Good to see and hear our Jefe again (though he looks much, much better in the flesh)!heart Kudos to VC for being a trendsetter of sorts in the field of social media among the luxury brands.    I think it helps a lot that Alex is, first and foremost, a VC fan because you can feel the passion in his words/posts.  This also means that he is not afraid to criticize the watches from his favorite brand once in a while, whereas a "hired marketing man" will only have praises and biased opinions.  Of course, this candidness begets trust and respect, which I think are common feelings we have for our dear Alex and VC. Keep up the good work Alex.yes Kazumidevil
thanks Kaz, we have to be critical with those we love :-)
