VC Chronograph Historique movement...

The watch is ref. 47101/4-47111 (as inscribed on the outer ring of the display back), but nowhere on the movement does it specifiy the caliber.... Based on the info on the web, it is supposed to be powered by the Lemania cal. 2320 based movement. Is it VC cal. 1400 or 1411? (BTW: when did the switchover from 1400 to 1411 occur?)

VC bought the 2320 eubaches from Lemania and finished them in-house. Did VC actually finish them or did Lemania do it for VC based on VC specifications?

Does VC still buy the 2320 from Lemania it or does VC manufacture the 2320 movement in-house under license from Lemania? If so, when did they start doing that instead of buying it?

Thanks!

AJ

welcome AJ, there was some discussion on this some

while ago cal 1140 and 1141 The base ebauche is from Lemania and until very recently parts were provided and finished and assembled by VC, now VC has a licence agreement and the parts are made inhouse by VC.
When did the switch-over occur?

Hi Alex.  Can you tell us when the switch-over from Lemania to VC manufacture of the cal 1140 occurred?  Is the break by serial number or began with a certain model introduction?
it was a progressive switch but VC doesn't

really want to communicate on it so I don't have any kind of date.

Thank you, Alex. Please clarify: you wrote: "The base ebauche is from Lemania and until very recently parts were provided and finished and assembled by VC..." Did you mean to write "...parts were provided and finished BY LEMANIA ? and assembled by VC" or some other phrasing referring to Lemania's place in the chain? And, would anyone know what is the movement inside ref. 47101/4-47111: is it cal. 1400 or 1411? (Why doesn't VC inscribe this info on the movement?) Thanks, AJ
"finished and assembled by VC" means the ebauche was

provided as a kit to VC by Lemania but all the finishing and the assembly was done by VC. Ref 47101 housed the 1140, when the snap on back of ref 47101 was replaced by a screw back and made the changes to the cal the ref was modified to 47111 and the cal ti 1141. This took place late 1999 early 2000.
What caliber is inside ref. 47101/4-47111: ...

The rim of the back is engraved: 47101/4-47111, and it is a snap-back. (Based on the serial numbers, I was told it was made in 2000.) AJ
if it has a snap on back the cal is 1140 (nt)
