VC Cioccolatone Moonphase Re-issue?

I am a lurker here and this is my first post, so please be gentle with me VC Cioccolatone Moonphase Re-issue?

With VC now accepting orders for bespoke watches, I was wondering if there is any interest here in asking VC to re-creating a run of, say, 200 pieces of the vintage Cioccolatone Moonphase, using the Toledo 1952 as a "base", for the members of this forum?

I have always been a fan of the vintage version, and many times found myself almost pulling the trigger on a Toledo (especially with the introduction of the pink gold model), but never did because the modern version somehow never quite did it for me.  While I would love to own the original, the price is prohibitive for me, even if I can find one in the first place, so this would be the next best thing.

Such a re-issue to my mind should be as faithful to the original as possible.  E.g. skip the guilloche dial and go for the clean silvered dial with applied number/baton markers).  And one in pink gold please.  Plus the moonphase aperture should be a simple cut-out as per the moonphases of yore, without the additional blue on the dial, and a melancholic man on the moon please.  Red day and month letters, but blue numerals for the dates and date pointer with a steel shaft and red arrowhead.  I can go on and on but finer details of the design can be agreed at a later stage...

Am I alone here or do some of you share my interest?

I for one agree 100% with you. I would love to see the

cioccolatone with a non guilloche dial but with a somewhat 2 tone dial like Radek's

good to have you on board kh :-) We are already working on a watch

for the Loungers! It was discussed a while back: probably a Patrimony in WG, ruthenium anthracite dial with Breguet numerals but its not as easy at it may seem!!

I however like your idea a lot because basically we would need a new dial and hands, the rest already existing, it would definately be a great looking watch. The price of making a one off piece just for yourself or a larger run may not have a huge difference in price as there is no R&D involved.

I like Chronometer's idea of having a two tone dial

If you ever do take the plunge let us know and good to see you no longer as a lurker but a Lounger

If there is one technical feature that could be improved...

I would like to have a quick-set button for the day-of-the-week display.  After leaving my Toledo off for a good number of days, it can be a pain having to wind the crown so many times to advance the day-of-the-week display several days!!  Of course, this is just aggrevated by the fact that I am always in a hurry to work.  If I wear the watch on a slow weekend, then it doesn't bother me as much.  Of course that might mean extra costs for a new/modified movement.

Just my 2 yen's worth.

for those wondering what the original Cioccolatone looks like here are

some scans of a model (in YG) with date in Portuguese.

sorry for the lousy scans

A model for the Lounger is a great idea!

I didn't know about this, but I think this would be a very good move by VC...

I am not sure if I will have any money left after buying my first VC, but this is something I am definitely interested in...

finally u step out of the closet .....

i have always encouraged u to get a VC. and yes, i remembered u told me that the only VC u will consider at the moment is the toledo being the ultimate PP fan. if this lounge re-issue this watch, then it'll be yr dream come true.

btw i wish we can find some gem in our trip to come. :)

Yes, I am also interested (see earlier posts) but a black face>>>

would be extraordinary, with the Rose gold and then there is that platinum moon staring us in the face. The stick hands on the present model would need to go back to the original, as Alex has so kindly posted, then maybe a few other small touches. Sounds exciting to me, now we just need 198 more interested loungers!

Hi guys! count me in. I am also dreaming to have a Toledo someday. I like the shape of the Cioccolatone. But I prefer the Blue dial. Makes it more classy! Lets keep our finger crossed. Maybe someday VC will give in to our request.

A Lounger's custom-made VC - I'm also in

And a blue dialed one... yeah, baby!
