The surprise ...
12/01/2009 - 20:44
... Alex and Christian bring from Geneva the prototype of one of the most complicated wristwatch in the world: the fabulous Tour de l'Ile! I can't add more on this watch to what Alex has already written here:http://www.thehourlounge.com/thread/view/history-of-the-development-of-the-tour-de-l-ile-grand-complication_39424_39424.html A true beast, very legible ... and wearable on a smallwrist Here, few pics:

AMAZING timepiece. There's nothing like wearing a house on your wrist, I imagine... And by the way, do you want to forward the pics to Patek, or shall I? ;)
The house on my wrist :)
12/01/2009 - 21:34
... and you could forward to Patek LOOOL :D
I think it looks at home on your wirst!
12/02/2009 - 04:16
I am surprised it doesn't at all look ridiculous on the wrist...WOW! Thanks for the excellent report Fred, Mr. G looking as handsome as ever Wish I could be there.
Btw, is the prototype of the beast, a working one?
12/02/2009 - 04:20
I think VC might need a full coverage insurance when exhibiting this watch
Non working unfortunatly :'( (nt)

It really looks natural on you. That's what a good French cuff does. And by the way, Patek was notified. They took it pretty hard... ;)
UltraThin Historiques 1955
12/01/2009 - 21:02
The sharpness of this new caliber 1003 integrated in the new Historiques 1955 case is just outstanding!! The diamater, 36mm is just perfect for smallwrist, the very small size of the diamater absolutly not bother!!! The dial: simply pure and clear! My only negative though: the red gold is more yellow than rose or red in my opinion, I don't know if it's cause the light or other exogenous factor ... More information on Alex's post:http://www.thehourlounge.com/thread/view/sihh-2010-exclusive-historiques-1955-and-1968_40658_40658.html Gentlemen, do you remember the litle booklet made by VC on the Geneva Seal? here a small face to face  /slice to slice

Spectacular watches, fabulous company and a most finesse surprise watch.  I am green with envy for this awesome VC experience . I do have something to console myself with though - a VC special edition of Watch Time . Anyway, out of the whole presentation of yours the fabulous Ciocolatone is my all time favorite and its pictures really made evening! Thanks again! Radek

Thanks a lot to Vacheron for this great event !
12/02/2009 - 00:07
First of all, lady first, thanks to Josephine for the organisation ! Of course big thanks to Christian, alex and Jean-yVes for their passion, thier konwledge: we all understood why Vacheron has a very special place in the horological industry. And congrats to Fred for the great report ! I just want to share with you a few pics. I would like to choose a very few watches to make a selection which symbolizes the evening. First of all, a novelty ! Did you say Platinum ? Another novelty, a bowl of fresh air, I would say a bowl of classicism which is welcome in the context of excessive designs too often seen... Caliber 1003: Wandering hours... and... drums are rolling... the surprise ! I think I don't need to introduce it ! Simple or complicated watches, small or big timepieces, we were all seduced by the whole range of the collection. Again, thanks a lot for this great event ! Fr.Xavier
It really looks an AMAZING night!
12/02/2009 - 01:08
I can still remember the VC dinner in London...that was fantastic! Haven't been able to miss a day of lessons latelly, unfortunately! I bet pretty much any dinner where a Tour de L'ile is present must be just outstanding! Loats of lovely vintage pieces as well! Good work VC!
Looks like great fun was had by all!
12/02/2009 - 05:13
Thanks Fred for all the pictures The watches on display that night are truly amazing.  Like Radek, I love the original Ciccolatine.  All of the vintage pieces were stunning.  The PT CR 1907 was marvelous and the Tour de l’Île, well to see that watch in the metal must have been thrilling. BR, Dan
Thank you Fred and Fr. Xavier for the wonderful photo reports!
12/02/2009 - 05:55
I am green with envy (especially since I still don't have my copy of WatchTime to keep me busy)! It looks like everyone had a great time and I am sure you all had an eyefull with all those goodies. Hope I can join in on one of these events soon. All the best, Kazumi

Thank you so much for sharing! It did indeed look like a fabulous evening. That smörgåsbord of vintage pieces was just lovely and the Tour d'ile must have been great to experience on your wrist! All the best Martin

I can imagine a "VC Dinner" like this, because I had the pleasure to attend in Munich The Tour de L'Ile was a big surprise to me. Thought it must be "ridiculous" on the wrist, but it isn´t at all Lots of nice features & details, but the details of the dails are to die for Lucky you, lighting was even better in Paris for taking pictures. Good for us to see all the nice pictures, now. Nice to see familiar faces as well. Thanks for the nice report. Oliver
