I need some advice regarding problems with my VC watch, and I wonder if the Forum could help.
I have an Overseas Chronograph which I bought in Dec 2007 and have been wearing sparingly. I have recently noticed that its hour hand is slightly loose, i.e. it has a play of about 2/3 - 1/2 minute, which makes the hand alighment with themselves and with the indices poor at times. The play is also visible when I tilt the watch to the left and right of the hour hand. Furthermore, the hour hand jumps visibly by the same increment when the date changes at midnight.
In addition to the hour hand, the Chronograph hands are slightly loose, i.e. it has a play of ~1/6 - 1/5 minute when I tilt the watch to the left or right of the hands.
I have a few questions:
1. I am trying to contact VC Service Centre in the UK at the moment, but would like to check with knwledgable people here whether the above behaviour of my watch is normal. I really don't want to send the watch in, as it is one of my favourites, and in other respects has been performing very well.
2. The booklet that I have with the watch says I should contact C.I.S., 48, Holmes Road, Kentish Town, London NW5 3AB, Tel 0044 020 7290 5130 for service; but the VC website says I should contact Richemont International Service, PO Box 34210, Tel +44 020 7290 5126. Which one is correct/up-to-date? The watch was purchased at an AD outside the UK, so I have no local AD to help. I don't want to send the watch to the wrong place.
