VC OS SS/Ti on Bracelet!

Greetings to all!  I have really been enjoying my OS SS/Ti watch over the past 9 months -- both on the rubber strap (great for summer wear) and particularly on the grey croc strap (which I wasn't sure I would like, but which has been great).

At the same time, I missed that great Maltese Cross bracelet from my dearly departed OS DT YG (the so-called "Bling Special").  So, after a tip from Mr. des Pins to "get on with it soon" when I met him at THL dinner in San Francisco, I called my favorite AD in Carmel, and a few weeks later, voila!

VC OS SS/Ti on Bracelet!

I immediately installed the bracelet (pretty easy, actually, by removing screws at each and pushing through the internal pin, which provides a very secure attachment for either strap or bracelet), and have been wearing the watch since.  The photo above was taken on today's SFO-Seoul flight -- gotta keep working to make that watch money!

The so-called "Deep Stream" OS is a real triumph, in my view -- and with croc, rubber, and SS bracelet, it's like having 3 different watches for daily wear.

Best,

Gary

Appreciate it. I like your USA on bracelet as well, but for me this particular anthracite dial really hits the spot...

More views please Gary

When you get some time, can you show us some pics in the wild...I'd really like to get an appreciation of the color contrasts between the ss and ti.  It really is an added bonus to be able to dress up your watch as the mood or situation changes yes.
Will do, Dean

I'll try to get out today if I can. This one is a long term keeper for me, I am fairly sure... You will have a chance to see this watch (and wear if you wish) in January! Best, Gary
That looks amazing

More pics, please, when you have some time. Did you also have to resize the bracelet as well, and how hard was that?
Do it, respo! :-)

Alex's photo below is all the proof you need that it is a killer look! Bill
Re-sizing
11/19/2011 - 03:24
Thanks, respo! Sizing the bracelet was easy, but I've done a fair amount of sizing over the past few years so your mileage may vary. The screws are easy to remove and the links are perfectly machined (no surprise, we are talking about VC here). A piece of masking tape over the edge of the bracelet can increase confidence -- then just push the blade of the screwdriver through the tape and extract the screw. If you are uncertain, however, just have it done -- it can be worth a few bucks for the peace of mind. By the way, I took it from the "hint" I received at dinner that the bracelet may not always be available as a free-standing piece, so act now! For the workmanship, the price is certainly right...
Thanks, Gary

I am already on it -- I just could not resist the bracelet any longer. Thanks for describing how to size the bracelet. I am probably not brave enough to do it myself, but it is good to know how it's done, you know for theoretical purposes. ;-). I am really looking forward to trying the bracelet out on my OS. Best, Respo
I've long been an advocate for that look!
11/14/2011 - 18:14
and would also encourage those with silver and black dial Overseas to try them out with the black rubber strap and deployant buckle! Bill
I had also put my US limited ed Overseas on bracelt for summer and

it looked good!
Re: I've long been an advocate for that look!

Thanks, Bill! I can imagine that the rubber strap would be killer with the silver and black dials -- even more contrast than with the face on this watch... Best, Gary
handsome and bold ! VC gives a lot of flexibility by ........

Value indeed -- for a retail price in the 2 grand range, it's amazing workmanship and a lot cheaper than buying a new watch! Best, Gary
Awesome

this bracelet is such a beauty, you did right cheers Francois
Re: Awesome
11/19/2011 - 03:29
Thanks, Francois -- the bracelet feels great, too! The perceived weight is not that different from the same bracelet in gold, interestingly -- VC has created a very solid, and solid feeling, bracelet here. Best, Gary
Gorgeous!

I haven't thought too much about it recently, but boy do I want that exact watch/bracelet combo! It looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Jason

It's your money, but I'd say go for it! At this price point there's nothing nicer, in my humble opinion... Best, Gary
You are such a Maltease! That is the best bracelet

out there, sorry to be so blunt. Too bad it wasn't the Seoul/ SFO flight.  Take care, Tim
And the last shall be first...
11/15/2011 - 15:07
Hey, Tim!  I don't mean to be rude to the other kind folks who have submitted comments, but with a title like that you leapt to the top of the list.  Maltease indeed! I agree that a lot of the joy of wearing the OS comes with the fantastic Maltese Cross bracelet.  To see this watch on the bracelet is to stop entirely flirting with any thoughts of getting a Daytona someday, for instance...sorry to mention those two in the same post, but the OS rules and then some! You've done your share (and then some, and some more) of Asia travel -- but I too wish that I had been heading the other way! Best, Gary
I just could not resist and am serious that it
11/17/2011 - 03:01
is the best designed bracelet in the business.  Hurry back, the turkeys are already thawing! Best, Tim
I love it
11/15/2011 - 17:09
The VC OS SS/Ti remains at the top of my VC wish list, and it does look fantastic with the bracelet... Thanks for the picture! Francois

I love it, too! I liked the grey dial from the first time I saw this piece -- but I've actually been surprised at how great it looks with all of the different straps/bracelets and different wearing/lighting conditions. A truly versatile watch! Best, Gary
Definitely more subdued than your old "Bling Special"
11/17/2011 - 02:56
But oh so nice!!!  yes I get the feeling you'll wear this more often than the YG OS DT you had before. BR< Dan

You are undoubtedly right, Dan -- but that solid gold piece was the ultimate guilty pleasure :-) See you soon! Best, Gary
