VC PDLF early model with original enamel diamond clasp and diamond dial

that I was fortunate enough to get. I am so happy I can't even express my gratitude for the chance to come across this rare original early 1970s PDLF and to be able to purchase it.

The case is sharply hallmarked and in mint condition. The Two-body, solid, polished, case has back engraved "Prestige de la France".

The hooded lugs, with all original yellow gold pyramid dial and diamond at the 12 with Yellow gold “bâton” hands are completely original and mint.

The movement is a MCal. 7’’’ K 1050/B, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 20 jewels, lateral lever escapement,free-sprung Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions, self-compensating balance-spring and is in complete and perfect working condition and has been recently serviced by VC.

The Dial, case and movement are all signed and to further add to its value it comes with a diamond enameled and all original Vacheron deployant folding Buckle.

The Diameter is 18 x 37 mm and the Thickness: is 7 mm, obiously ladies watch but I have no problem with this one in my collection.

and I am sure this is redundant but just as a reinforcement for my quest and final result of getting one (finally) I need to stress out the following info.

Significance of the Prestige de la France mark:

The Prestige de la France Vacheron Constantin has always had a close relationship with France, particularly during the Art Deco period and the remarkable and prolific collaboration with Verger Frères. These ties grew even stronger during the 1970s, as Vacheron Constantin was awarded the “Prestige de la France” on June 23, 1972. During a reception at Paris' Ritz Hotel attended by Mr. François-Xavier Ortoli, the Minister of “Développement industriel et scientifique”, the “Prestige de la France” diploma was awarded to Mr Jaques Ketterer, Président-Directeur general of Vacheron Constantin by M. Louis W. Christaens, President of the “Comité de prestige et de propagande nationale”, The collection of curved and asymmetrical watches that became known as the “Prestige de la France” collection was given the supreme privilege of being allowed to engrave the emblem of the association - a laurel-leaf crown surrounding the words “prestige de la France” - on the watch cover. This creation of Vacheron Constantin's Paris bureau is one of the few truly memorable creations of the 1970s, a period which was less rich in noteworthy designs than others. In 1999, Vacheron Constantin re-offered the collection, naming it “1972”.

Nice! In fact, perfect for the Bastille Day holiday weekend! :-)

I love the design.  Unfortunately, the longer ones, including the modern Historiques version of the 1972 are too long for my small wrists.  The ends and strap hangover on both sides.

Thank you Dan, as I mentioned to Time Walker I was negotiating for another one in WG 21 x 46 mm and 7mm thick and I got it, check the pictures attached, I am so happy the negotiations ended up well, I know I overpaid but I could not resist. Also, to close the deal I had to buy the attached Chopard with floating diamonds and again I did what I had to do to get it, they come up so rarely I had no choice but to get them.

Congrats on both of these new pieces!

I saw the first one, glad its going to a good home.  The Chopard looks like a fun watch too!

I put them up there in the first post: 18 x 37 mm and 7mm thick, thank you for your appreciation, it took me a long time to track one down and I think I am going to get another one in WG 21 x 46mm the same 7mm thickness and V&C which means earlier than 1974 same as this one, with the original WG bracelet. I will let you know how it goes, I am still negotiating.

I'm late to the party but can only chime in what others have said and
