Yesterday, Noveber 3rd, Vacheron Constantin received the 2011 Award from of Geneva Chamber of Commerce. This award is given each year to a company based in Geneva (may it be a Swiss company or a foreign one having its European or EMEA head offices in Geneva) and who contributed to the influence of Geneva via its dynamism, openness to the world and innovation.
This is a fantastic award considering the huge multi national corporations who were contenders.
In his speach the President of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce said that VC represents :" the beauty and complexity of watchmaking. A craft where creativity, expertise and experience are essential"
Charly Torres the brand's CEO in his thank you speach dedicated the award to all of VC's collaborators : "since 1755 it has been 10 generations of men and women who have perpetuated the values important to our founders. Thanks to them, Vacheron Constantin writes each day a new page of a human adventure and represents Geneva's horological excellence"
VC also had a booth where a certain number of watches were exhibited as well as a watchmaker and engraver who showcased their crafts
