VC at Salon QP

An amazing opportunity to have your vintage VC piece examined by a member of the heritage dept. He noted movement and case numbers, made a quick phone call to Geneva and a couple of minutes later confirmed that my father's watch was purchased in Sydney in 1964. That made sense because my father was given this watch by a distant relative who had moved out there in the 1920's. It's a Ref 6394, as Tick-Talk identified a while back. Cal K1072. A certificate will arrive from Geneva shortly confirming all this - a wonderful gesture from VC to its vintage watch owners.

Nice to meet Lucy from VC UK and of course Alex. Many thanks to VC heritage dept in particular

A lovely gesture from VC, and fascinating to be able to view a watch under the microscope.

I was able to have my 6394 non-date model appraised by Jerome, and view the calibre K1071 up close. It turned out that my watch was manufactured and sold in 1960, yet is still running beautifully considering its 55 years!
