VC's guillocheur is not an artist, he's a sorcerer! Proof via this vid

He actualy manages to "draw" on a dial using machines made to make either straight lines or circles!!!

Enjoy the video

His dials are really works of art...or sorcery!

Mr. Supachai is just that... SUPA-h! cheeky It is sad to hear that there are fewer and fewer craftsmen and artists who can do the same level of intricate work nowadays, so I hope VC has other people following in his footsteps to keep the art alive. I can imagine that it takes many years of training to get to a certain level, and even with the training, I am sure it takes a special talent to reach the level we are seeing in the video. I hope more people get to see this video to get a good appreciation of why engine-turned dials are so special.   Hope to see Mr. Supachai in action again soon. Best regards, Kazumi

It only takes 3 minutes to view but a lifetime to achieve....

This is craftsmanship at it's very best. A delight to see such beautiful work. Thank you Alex for the insight. Much appreciated. Tony
Great video, Alex!

Superb craftsmanship. I really admire the work that the 'socerer' has been doing. Takes long years of practice and patience to achieve this level of dexterity and precision. Makes you appreciate it even more once you get to see the guy at work first-hand which I had the chance to experience at the Manufacture... And then I got to disassemble and put together a simple deck movement. It made me realize how hard the job at the Manufacture really is. No matter what you do: enameling, engine-turning, polishing or assembling you have to be an expert to be able to live up to VC's standards. As it was stated above, hope there are some following his footsteps. It'd be a real shame to get our dials stamped some time down the road (though I wouldn't mind seeing more QDI-like dials in the future).
Amen to having more QdI-like dials!!! (nt)

Makes me realise how truly special are some of the watches we wear... Also makes me want to buy a VC with guillochagecheeky... I showed the video to a few of my colleagues who don't get why I'm so much into watches, and I think that they understood a little bit better after seeing the video Thanks Alex! Francois
