A very handsome piece

Visited the local VC boutique over the weekend and was shown the Malte Platinum.  In picture it looks good, it looks even better in actual.  I love the dial and the layout.  Simple but elegant.  I usually like sub-second, but this piece with its simple 2 hands and roman indices is just lovely.  It's a bit big for my skinny wrist but it wears comfortably and I like the weight.  I just hope the rose gold will have identical or similar dial layout/design.

(and I don't think it's too big for you ... I have a small wrist as well and that's what I tell myself to rationalize many of my larger watch purchases)  devil Cheers, Jeff

Yes and here it is

I don't own a Overseas so I can't really compare them.  However, the friendly boutique staff showed me the blue dial Overseas chronograph.  Needless to say, I was delighted to get to see it.  But it didn't wow me the way the Malte Platinum did.  With all honesty, I prefer the 5712.  It wears more comfortably on my skinny wrist and its dial is more attractive to me.  I forgot to take a wristshot of the Overseas.  Melvin
My favorite of the new Maltes!

I was able to try the Anniversary Malte on last week, and I was very impressed. I had only previously seen it briefly under glass.  But upon examining it closely I found it very compelling.  I love it. The dial postiviely sparkles.  Tghe roman numerals appear to pop off the dial  The saving grace for me is that I was not convinced by how it fit my wrist -- which may have to do with the shape, its thinness, the white dial -- who knows.  I do know that it looked absolutely fantastic on my buddy's wrist when he tried it on. And yes, I am a little bitter over that.indecision  But honestly, I cannot, absolutely cannot add any more VCs to my wish list!  Are you listening Vacheron??? May I just say, for the record, that the VC Concierge, Daniel, is an enabler. devil But it was a joy to try this one on.   Best, Robert
hmmm so what is currently on your VC wish list? :-)

I had a very interesting dicussion with Paul Boutros yesterday about the Patrimony Contemporaine and I ogled a Deepstream Dual Time Overseas.  But I may first "jump" back a few years for another cushion shaped watch.  There are way too many handsome VCs out there. Best, Robert
Some cool pieces you have in mind :-)

I was at SIHH this past January and after a great VC dinner, we received booklets introducing the new Malte watches that were introduced at SIHH.  I thought the pictures looked quite bland.  But the next day, when we saw them in the metal, and over the next few days as I kept touching and seeing it...this Pt. Malte definitely became my favorite of the new Maltes.  It looks so simple, but is stark and chllingly beautiful!  (by the way, I feel the same way about the PT. Chronometre Royale 1907). Best Regards, Dan
