The Vulture Has Landed

After a period of intense work over the past few months, I finally had the pleasure of stopping by the NYC Boutique yesterday, to see my extended VC family and also to get a first hand look at the new MÉTIERS D'ART SAVOIRS ENLUMINÉS - VULTURES.  It is an incredible piece that made just a short trip to the US, so I took some photos.  It is on its way back to Geneva tomorrow.

Lovely! How is it for telling time?

Does the background help or hinder?

It depends on the lighting.  It isn't the pattern of the background, but rather the intensity of the gold light reflecting from the background that can sometimes overpower the dark numbers. This is a watch that is beautiful at any angle, but at its best under magnification to reveal the stunning details.

Looks great on your wrist, thinking of getting one?

It would be a great addition to your avian collection! angel

I have been thinking about it, but have not made up my mind.  I actually think it is a bit large for my wrist.  It only measures 40mm, but a square 40mm watch is signifivantly larger than a round 40mm watch.

The Savoir Enluminés aren't getting as much love as they should! These pieces are absolutely gorgeous and

so avant garde!

Good to have you back Mike!

I'm guessing they really need to be seen in the metai...

in order to be truly appreciated.  I can't wait to see them first hand.

Thanks Alex. Good to be back.

Thanks for these pics. First, I love the movement, or more specifically

the layout of the satellite time functions on the dial. Very well done.

Second, I prefer the Harmony case to this one; but this case is also nice.

Third, VC needs to make normal or non-MDA pieces for these type of movements.

VC has the G4 and now this movement - please make some 'normal' dials - maybe with a combination of Guilloche or maybe Gold Dials or whatever, but something more 'normal' and more affordable.

Good to hear from you Mike...

They say timing is of the essence and your visit to the NYC boutique was no exception...

I sense this is a piece you need to see in person in order to truly evaluate it's attributes heart.

On a personal note, I hope your workload will be somewhat less demanding going forward.

With good wishes
