Long time no see, all my friends!
I happened to see that my dear friend, Tony C is selling THE Vacheron & Constantin wrist watch, at Sotheby's, September 22!
From the description in the Sotheby's catalogue:
" The watch was directly consigned by its original and only owner, who cherished and carefully kept it for 55 years. He received it from his father who wanted to give his son “the best watch in the world”.
Furthermore, extensive research proves that the present watch is fitted with a very rare integrated bracelet.
The present lot has to be considered as one of the finest and most complete example of Chronometre Royal appearing at auction in the last decade."
Tony is one of my oldest and closest V&C friends, and of course I seen this on Tony's wrist and also tried it on my own.
The word 'stunning' is over-used in this place - but this watch is really STUNNING!
I know it wont be cheap, but in my heart I really hope Vacheron Constantin Museum have enough cash to 'save' this very,
very special watch, with it's 55 years (!) of provenance.
A watch with that history will never come up for sale again!
