Watchmaking - the book

I just bought Watchmaking by George Daniels.

I'm looking forward to delving into the mysteries of the mechanical watch and, hopefully, having them explained.

I hope I am more successful with this than my Klosé Clarinet Method...

I most enthusiastically suggest to balance the left-brain stuff of Watchmaking that you also obtain "All In good Time, Relfections of a Watchmaker".  This is George Daniels autobiography and rich with insights about the man himself yes.

I agree with Dean,

That is one heavy-duty book!

Daniel's autobiography is worth the read.

You may also be interested in "Watches" by Cecil Clutton and George Daniels, a momgraph on the history of watches with tons of illustrations.

there is also Michael Clerizo's "George Daniels A Watchmaker and His Art". This is a beautiful book full of colour photos of Daniel's work, with comprehensive text.

It's a bit of a coffee table book but it will provide with hours of pleasure and amazement.
