and Thomas Keller? Oh, and perfect weather perched above the Pacific on an August evening with great watch and car collectors?
Magic!!

I have been lucky enough to attend many car events, watch events and even a couple of car and watch events, but I can say without a doubt that last nights event was the ultimate.

The setting was a private villa perched above Carmel, over looking the beautiful Pacific.

After admiriring the view and having a nice glass of wine, time to move inside and see a few watches.

A few friends you will recognize. (Sorry about the photographs, not my strong suit and the bright lights in the case were very bright).
There were several more cases of watches and a beautiful box of movements, but I just could not get a good shot.

Then we moved on to the food.

G
astronomical creations from Thomas Keller's kitchen were passed for at least an hour, it was like a waterfall of the greatest bites of your life.
Chef Keller was also gracious to let us watch in the kitchen, while he orchestrated his master pieces.
The salmon tartare cone was my absolute favorite, a combination of tartare, soft cheese and an airy, flaky cone to hold it all together, I only had five!

The master chef above his work. It was magical and what a privelege to watch the preparation and then taste the art!!

The evening progressed with music and speeches from the hosts:

President David Archibald of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America

and our own President of Vacheron & Constantin North America, Hugues de Pins

The two speeches were very classy, warm, friendly and welcoming, hopefully someone got a sound bite on the two--really well done.

The menu unfolded in all its glory, with a chocolate based creation that you could cutomize with caramel sauce, specially sweetend nuts and bowls of toasted macadamia nuts toasted and coated in sugar--simply to finish you off. There were also custome made bon-bons in mint, chocolate, hazelnut, coconut and peanut butter and jelly!

I must also say at this point that the wines and service were of the absolute highest order and the staff were incredibly thoughtful, efficient and ultra classy to go with mind numbingly great food. The undercurrent of the evening was fun and I personally found many new friends along with the long time buddies and local watch and car enthusiasts. It was quite honestly a perfect evening.

Many thanks to our hosts at Rolls Royce and V&C and all the staff who made this such an evening to remember.

I close with a reminder of the Villa's splendor and the afternoon sun on Mr. David Archibald's face as he gave us the warm welcome enjoyed by all.
