I had a negative experience with hotel bears in Shanghai before, http://www.thehourlounge.com/en/vacheron-constantin-discussions/dan-and-3-bears-634652
Same city, diffferent hotel. The first night, I found a bear in my room, on my bed. As I'm travelling alone, I was a bit wary. But cuteness won out over better sense. . Luckily the first night went REALLY well!
The second night when I got back to my room, there were 2 bears in my bed, twins at that! It was not a night of dreams, but rather one of nightmares. The two started blackmailing me! The only thing of interest they found were my watches. A debate went on and on among them about whether the twin set of manual-wind or auto-wind watches would better fit their criminal lifestyles. I'll be lucky if they don't take all 4!
The black bears in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that I'm used to seeing are much easier to deal with, all they want is food (and not even haute cuisine). These ultra-sophisticated Shanghai city bears are KILLING me.
