What model VC is this?

I was given this by a family member and I believe it is a Day Date from 10 years earlier?  What is its real world value?

I see the new models are $35k??

one more try
WG, REf. 47245, 31-Day Retrograde, introduced in 2000

The watch was discontinued several years ago.  The retrograde day/date watch that is available now is quite different, especially in terms of the movement.  (the old one is very nice and based on a JLC ebauche, while the current one uses a beautiful VC designed movement). We do not discuss the value of used watches on THL, sorry.  You may want to search the archives of some of the auction houses, or get an estimate from one of them to get an idea of current value. thanks, proper cleaning?

Does VC have a "factory" servicing like others?  Do you recommend this?
VC offers full service

If your watch has never been serviced, chances are that it is dry and needs maintenance.  VC can definitey do it - they commit to being able to service every watch Brand has ever made in it's 257 years of history.  Though dependng on the age and condition, it can be quite expensive. If you are in the U.S., you can bring your watch to a VC Authorized Dealer or send it directly to the Richemont Technical Center in Dallas/Fort Worth.  (Address and more information can be found on VC's website).  VC will provide you an estimate before starting any work. Chances are your watch can be serviced at the RTC and not be required to be sent to Geneva (this can make repair/maintenance time much shorter). Best Regards, Dan
