What Quality Control?

A couple of months ago I ordered a new VC Dual Time. The first one that arrived had a faulty second hand (the sweep was "jerky").

This was sent back to Switzerland and a couple of modifications were carried out. It arrived back better but not good enough. A replacement was found which, again, was not right.

Vacheron then replaced the Dual Time with a Chronograph. I got the call yesterday that it had arrived at the AD.

I drove through to pick it up, had a quick look and drove home again.

Having arrived home, I started to have a little play.

It was at this point that I discovered that the chronograph function is faulty. It will allow you to start timing, then stop it. However, when you try to reset it, it either does nothing or moves the sweep hand to a random position on the dial.

I am absolutely gutted that a third piece has proven to be faulty.

Vacheron Constantin used to be a quality watchmaker but I'm afraid that they have now lost a customer for good as they are obviously just churning out very expensive tat.

I know the AD very well and a refund will be no problem but I am bitterly disappointed that this has turned out the way it has.

Sorry for the long post/rant but I wanted to get it out of my system.
that definately sucks and I can find nothing to say to

defend one of my favorite brands I was speaking to one of VC's biggest retailers in the US who told me that among the brands he carried VC was on of the ones who gave him the least trouble but you really had 100% bad luck and its a shame as there is more to the brand that what you have experienced.
Chronograph usually bulletproof!

I'm most surprised that you had problems with the chronograph as the Piguet-based movement is mostly bullet-proof.  I road-tested mine quite vigorously... Others will have to chime-in on the Dual Time as I have no experience with that modification.
Very sad to hear about your experience

I'm a BIG VC fan and luckily haven't experienced your difficulties, or any problems with my watches.  Though if I did, I would be furious as well.  Is this your first VC or do you have others?  This would be a terrible first impression for anybody. I don't know if there is anything that VC Customer Service can do for you directly, but I would hope that they make an effort.  Besides posting on this forum, I would suggest contacting VC directly about what has happened to you - I don't know if the Concierge Service online is the appropriate channel but you can give it a try.  Best Regards, Dan
Could it be a problem with the AD? I'm not defending VC but it

does happen that when the AD shows a watch to multiple clients the latter play around and handle the watch without taking care...thus your issues. QC issues exist but in your case 3 watches out of 3 had problems which seems way too much and maybe not only a VC QC problem. You should try another AD just as a test. My 2c

I am sory to read your post as I am a happy owner of a VC Overseas Chrono. I fully understand your problem and sympathize with you. Several years ago I had a problem with a new Rolex watch and all got resolved to my satisfaction. Things can happen even to the best of brands, its not an excuse, it just happens. Good luck with resolving your current isues. Keep us posted.  Regards, Matt
I started to have a little play

These may be the key words here.
