What is the relationship of movement K1001 to K1003?

I am new to Vacheron so please forgive this question if it is silly.

What is the relationship of the K1001 movement to the K1003 movement?

I am keen to know as I see Vacheron still uses the K1003 movement.

Did the K1003 replace the K1001?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

1.64mm thick making it the world's thinnest manual wind movement. It is still in used by VC. There is an article on VC Ultra thin watches in the articles section

The 1001 was V&C's first foray into thin wrist watch movements.  Also based on the JLC 818 ebauche were Audemars Piguet's cal. 2001 and this Cartier version. What followed was the ne plus ultra of thin - the caliber 1003 .  While the ebauche was also of JLC manufacture, this time it was reserved exclusively for V&C and AP.  The 1003 was finally brought inhouse with the brilliant caliber 1003/3 in the Historique 1955 .
Thanks for the details....
