What is a Swiss luxury watch brand's idea of e-commerce?

Having a “Find Nearest Authorized Dealer” function in its iPhone App

The joke of the day! Found it on perpetuelle.com. Had a great laugh and for most it is so true!

I love how businesses are chasing after Twitter, Facebook and apps without any real understanding of how they are used.  As you've just pointed out Shady, most still don't understand the whole Internet concept...it's just an electronic version of a magazine ad for many.  I find the situation is getting worse as manufacturers (watches and others) are reducing the level of information available online in an apparent attempt to lure you into the retailer's clutches.  For many customers, that is unacceptable as the level of e-commerce continues to grow while bricks-and-mortar sales lag.  Many a business has failed when they tried to bend the customer to fit their mold rather than adapt to changing times (see earlier posting regarding Darwin).
