What is your latest acquisition?

07/02/2009 - 11:25
That is one heck of a time measuring machine!
06/29/2009 - 17:12
I'm afraid to call it a watch!  I've been staring at it and so far can only tell the date and whether it is day or night.  It's not my picture and its definitely not as avant-garde:
Wow! Looks like something straight out of a Jules Verne novel!
06/30/2009 - 08:00
Congrats, Alex.  That is one alternate time display watch if I ever saw one.  Looks like it could take you back in time or something. Its been very quiet on my end, and I hoping that this last acquisition will not be "the last". Best regards, Kazumi (My favorite Patrimony Contemporaine Manual Winding, Boutique Edition)
I'm almost too embarrassed to say
06/30/2009 - 15:17
but it was a Rolex Milgauss with a white dial. I tried it, didn't like it, never have to do it again. Phewww. :-) Bill
Funny you should say...
06/30/2009 - 17:30
Bill, I had a brief fling with a white dial Rolex Explorer II this week and had the same reaction .  The cure was a new vintage V&C

Have you strayed from the CR Batman/Thunderbird motiff?    You know that more pictures are required, don't you?
07/02/2009 - 02:41
A detailed review will be forthcoming, but for now I can reveal that it's a Ref. 4536 .

Bless me Father for I have sinned...
07/01/2009 - 20:23
Looks a lot like my beloved Vacheron Carree Historique! My understanding is this is one of a handful in White Gold.
you are forgiven...gorgeous (nt)

Ahh...the temptation to sin...
07/02/2009 - 07:47

Congratulations, Luca. That is a very pretty piece and I must admit, Cartier has a knack of coming out with some of the prettiest designs. While we are in the topic of sinning.  I must make a confession... I have been tempted to buy a simple cartier Santos Dumont for the longest time now (no. 1 on my wish list now), so I am glad to know that I am in very good company.  Sigh... Congrats again! Best regards, Kazumi

Still looks great! Is that your 40th birthday in the background? Happy birthday Let me guess... that was last year and the watch was a birthday present?? Regards, Joseph

My newest sports watch additon & its competition
07/01/2009 - 08:36

What can I say? My VC AD is also a Rolex AD so I gave it a try, lol. The both have their strong merits and are very compatible friends in different watch winders however.  Best regards, Matt

Congrats on the nice pair! (nt)

An inexpensive piece that I bought on a whim half an hour ago because, 1. I do not own any timepiece in white gold 2. I do not have a dressy dressy time keeping machine 3. I do not own any timepiece of this particular shape and form 4. I love the watch at first sight and I think it's full of character 5. I always dream about a Piaget but most of their timepieces are too 'contemporary' for my taste 6. and 3008 more reasons... I feel good falling in love with her Matt n.b. picture courtesy from the seller
