Just think if The Don would have worn this one at the "Big Meet" ;-)

Alas Robert, my plans to go climbing this weekend were sabotaged by bad weather so will have to wait another week.  I think an "instrument watch" like Alex's would be nice to take along wink.  Luv your 1921, already an iconic VC heart.

Thanks, Dean

Thanks for the nice words on the 1921.

We are having bad weather down here, too.

And what graces your wrist this weekend?

Ah, this one
05/16/2014 - 21:08

It's turn has come, but I'll switch out the strap first...

Ah, this one

Nice choice, Dean

No one does vintage quite like you do.

Best,

Robert

Beautiful shots respo!

Well, it's a long weekend here in the great White North, in honour of Queen Victoria.

So I get to change watches a few times.

But for tomorrow (Saturday), I'll try this one:

So many gorgeous pieces, but if I had to (or could) pick one to add ...
05/17/2014 - 13:49

to my collection, I think it would be this one. It is beautiful.  Love the dagger markers, the color combination, and the understated elegance of it. Do you mind telling me the reference?  I would like to do some research and maybe add it to my "targets" list.  Thank you.

Hi jtodd,

It's a Patrimony Contemporaine, Ref 81180/000G-9298 in white gold with a black dial.

It was made in a limited edition of 75 pieces for the Austrian and German market.

You may have considerable difficulty finding one. The one I have is the only one I have ever seen. I have never seen them up for auction.

Vacheron does make one in platinum with a medium grey dial which is stunning. I had been looking at it until I found this one, just by luck.

Joseph

Thank you Joseph. Considerable trouble indeed. It is beautiful. Great find. (nt)

Wish it had been this...

Radek call the bespoke department and have them make this. You can also ask for
05/17/2014 - 09:55

discount as you designed your own watch :-)

Just a quick thought: with the refreshed design of Overseas just around the corner I wonder if the bespoke dept. were still willing to make this after the introduction of the new model line...
05/17/2014 - 14:21

I guess they could do anything any client would ask of them - it would all come down to cost effectivenes in the end, right? With the current model still in production I could use a little arm twisting to get the "discount", with the new design on production line it probably wouldn't happen...

tough choices and deliberations ;-) here's another thought for bread: your own Overseas design from the current line-up with an upcoming in-house self-winding chronograph ticker?!? How crazy does that sound?

Better order before new OS comes out so you wouldn't have to pay for an
05/17/2014 - 20:04

individual OS case

Love the diversity of the watches in this thread!

The above photo is my watch. Gary was kind enough to take a quick shot for me.

I didn't get the credits on my posting from the iPhone. Still learning the ropes.

HAGWE all,

Tim

I love the strap choice
05/18/2014 - 07:58

Can I ask where you got it?  It is not Journe, correct?

the stitch is just perfect match to the hands

I would really like to add that to mine!

thanks

The strap was a spare that came with the watch. it is not
05/19/2014 - 20:18

the maufacture strap and I can barely make out three letters. ARP or ARR as they printed it on the very end of the strap, not real good planning.

Someone on the lounge that is more into straps may have an answer for you. It is a great match and gets unending compliments.

Best,

Tim
