Very nice! As I type this, I have an Omega Seamaster 300m on my wrist that I was sleeping with. It was a gift 5 years ago from a very generous uncle (a big PP fan) for no particular reason other than that he needed to drop by the watch store to get one of his watches repaired, and my introduction to the world of mechanical watches. It's 4 AM here, and I woke up to get a drink of water. No Black Friday madness for me (the craziness at the beginning of the US holiday shopping season; two of my sisters went shopping 1.5 hours ago), so I'm headed back to sleep in a bit. Sorry about the grainy shot... using my laptop camera and a white screen as a flash. When I wake up later in the morning, it will be back to my VC Patrimony Traditionnelle date self-winding. I've worn it every day since getting it a bit over 4 months ago. I estimate that it has graced my wrist for a bit over 1500 hours so far. It made a great conversation piece at Thanksgiving dinner last night since two of my relatives had taken to wearing fake VCs, and most of them have heard of the brand before. On the note of the VC being an attention getter, Wednesday was the first time I overheard someone pointing out my watch while not talking with me. On my drive to LA to visit my parents, I dropped by Tourneau in South Coast Plaza (Newport Beach, CA). As I started to roam around, I overheard one of the sales staff tell another, "He's wearing a Vacheron. Nice!" He quickly headed over my way to help out with anything I needed, but I was just looking around for the day. They were one of two VC ADs I visited on my drive up. The other one knew that I was coming, and was helping me pick out a watch for my friend's upcoming wedding present.
cool story Jason :-) (nt)

I'm wearing my OS Chronograph, spent the day moving some office furniture around and laying down a new rug. Have a great weekend everybody!  I'm going to the German embassy tomorrow for a Christmas bazaar they hold every year for people to get together before most people go back home for the holidays. Best Regards, Dan

you are nearly in Sweden, they came from Denmark... Fantastic art making this watch, one of the few that really gives the, 'old time' impression of a genuine classic slim pocket watch Doc

Alex, that piece is fantastic!  So huge, you don't need to go to the gym .  At least its getting some wrist time and not residing in a vault .  Wonderful watch Joseph, love that dial treatment...classic à la Breguet.  Please share some movement pics too. Today I'm heading out for a business meeting at Starbucks, my second home.  Am wearing my current mountaineering watch, a very comfortable Bertolucci 300m dive watch on NATO strap that served well in Nepal.
now that's really underground :-) cool looking watch had never seen it

Back On My Wrist - Where It Belongs

Recently back from a full service, looking as good as it did when it was made 25 years ago, and keeping perfect time.   I still owe you an on wrist review.
looking forward to the review :-)

Cool bike Aaron...

Tell us more!  Looks like a retro-style single speed, or does it have rear hub gears?  Do you have many bikes?  I recently rebuilt a vintage race bike for touring:
dean, u have a fantastic bike too. mine is indeed a retro-looking bike
11/28/2010 - 15:41
single speed with no rear hub. i am trying to alternate cycling and running to beat the middle-age paunch. i like the retro look of abici , but also want a sturdier bike i can train with , thus the brooks saddle and the leather taped handles were added. this is coincidentally my first bike, probably a prelude to the performance road bike, which is a currently the fad in singapore and a sport which many of my friends are engaging.

It's just getting more beautful the more I see it! I'd love one... Doc
Nothing, but in my waistcoat I have the most beautiful of them all!
11/28/2010 - 01:11
This is for me the most beautiful Vacheron&Constantin, I ever have had in my hand. I'll wouldn't part from it for anything. Small, heavier than you ever could belive, feels like a little gold nugget, which it is! The most utmost Art Deco, 'Egyptomania-period', everything functions perfect and it's made 1928. Unique. I just love it Doc
