Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

It seems that each time I think that I will stop buying watches for some time something new pops up and ignites my desires for yet another watch Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

These are currently on my wish list (which some how never seems to emptey!!)

VC Patrimony Bi Retrograde

I hated it at first now love it! I was hopping to see a boutique edition in rose gold and black dial but seems it ain't going to happen so I'll certainly go for the RG model in 2010

Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

VC Historiques American 1921The impact of this watch is amazing, even people who don't like watches love this one, its elegant and classic with a twist

Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

QDI Tantalum/Palladiummade in only 100 pieces so I doubt I'll manage to get one but the tantalum case with its blueish tint gives the watch a testosterone injected appeal! (this is the very first photo of the watch to appear...I'll post more soon)

Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

The two non VCs are not high horology but fun, and watches are about having fun right?

Corum Ti Bridge

I love the case and the modern way the linear caliber is used

Which VC and non VCs are on your current wish list?

Perrelet TurbineThe rotor on the dial with the red background is pretty funky

Alex, I suffer the same problem that each time I extinguish the desire for a watch (by finding it and buying it), another one pops up. It's like Red Adair putting out 'oil-fires'! The problem is, more fires crop up than I have the cash to put out....! There should, perhaps, be a Swiss moratorium on desirable watches for 12 months to aid our financial health. But then we'd just get sick!

So, to your question:- (and apologies that I am not yet up to posting photos)

VC... you already know the one, it's the 47212. Problem so far is, shall I go for Number 2 - London, Number 5 - Manuacture Geneva last I saw it, or Number 14 - USA or Number 28 - Geneva Boutique. The chase is all a part of it! Back-up plan is you sell me your EP Chrono! Dream is a VC split sceonds Non-VC PP 5970G or P Franck Muller Master Banker  WG IWC Portuguese Minute Repeater Blancpain 500 fathoms, or the 50 GP Three Gold Bridges - in a watch , and a fab Pocket watch too! JLC Extreme Lab 179 T4 70 (oh my God!) FPJ Chronometre a resonance (P) FPJ Octa RdM (P) Lange Zeitwerk Lange 31 Lange Datograph TH Moser Mayu and on, and on You see, I really do have a problem Gary

Gary, nice to see you on the Lounge again!

You seem to have a few more options than when we last spoke - looks like your 47212 hunt is going well... Good luck, and bring home the bacon!!! Cheers, Francois

This is a short list of realistic watches that have been twirling around in my head recently (not "dream" watches): VC QDI Date - can't make up my mind on which version - I like the titanium a lot & the rose gold. VC Historiques Chronograph - would buy a white or yellow gold if I could find one, have my eye on a platinum. Lange Cabaret Moonphase in rose gold - Love the styling & proportions, now out of production. Panarai - perhaps 8-day power reserve Radomir. Bell & Ross BR-03 42mm black carbon or military green instrument style, a casual weekend watch. Urwerk 103 Blackbird - out of production, haven't ever seen one but am going by an AD at the end of November. Nicholas

After some serious thought my wish list is smaller than I thought. From VC: Malte Dual Time Regulator Overseas Dual Time black dial and a QDI in paladium (photo courtesy of cisko) From non VC the Lange 1 Timezone with grey dial
I am quite content with my VCs (for now)
11/13/2009 - 17:32
And the only one I want now is Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5065, the old version...anybody wants to sell his?

The first one is an oldie, but a goodie, in more ways than one. In a response to an old post by Radek about which watches are you dreaming about, I replied with this 1907 VC minute repeater, split-second chronograph, chronometer, pocket watch: http://www.thehourlounge.com/index.php?module=Thread&action=view&threadid=32768&id=32774  It's still up for sale after all this time, but they increased the price 6 months ago instead of decreasing it to my stretch budget at the time. :-( The other watch that I've fallen for is the Glashutte Senator Chronometre.  The way the minute hand advances to the next minute marker and second hand goes to the 0 position when you pull out the crown to set the time just tickles the detail oriented geek in me.  The big date, blue hands, and traditional German finish of the movement all talk to me.  (I don't have a German manufactured watch yet.  While I wouldn't mind staying within the Richemont family, this GO talks to me more.) BR, Dan
I share your love Dan

It didn't make my list of next watches I would like to buy, but just barely... GO has been coming out recently with some nice models... This one is very nice, the new regulator as well, and I also like very much their Senator Meissen watches (the tourbillon one is sweet). Cheers, Francois

I'm in water 3 times daily, I limit myself to 1 watch at a time , I like to buy a watch and wear it 24/7 for years, so.........

Hello to everyone. As for VCs: 1. VC Historiques American 1921 - I haven't seen one in the flesh but it definitely looks really cool.   The premium price is difficult to justify though (at least on my meager budget).  (Photo courtesy of Mr. Gothbi/THL) 2. VC Malte Chrono EP (still haven't decided which bank to rob) 3. VC Patrimony Contemporaine EP (still hoping to convince Radek to donate his to a worthy cause!) 4. VC Tribute to Great Explorers (will buy Jumbo Lottery tickets as soon as they come out) - Like Alex, I also love the Patrimony Bi-retro but alas, it is too big for my wallet...I mean, wrist. Non-VC 1. Cartier Santos Dumont in PG or WG - Clean and classic w/ Piaget mvt.  Probably the only thing I can afford right now. 2. PP Chronometro Gondolo 3. FP Journe Chronometre Souverain 4. AP Royal Oak Ahh...so many watches, so little money..sob. Cheers! Kazumi
QdI Tantalum/Palladium for me...
11/14/2009 - 18:15
if means were plentiful I would also consider a PP Nautilus Chrono as well as a Panerai AllBlack Chrono
QDI Date Palladium
11/16/2009 - 14:09
For VC, the QDI is by far the one which appeal to me. I finally tried it and am completely in love. There are many other Vacheron which I found fantastic but on my dream wish list, these are the one -VC Quai de L'ile Date Palladium: I will share the try of the QDI day date palladium. A complete wonder. But the simple date seems to be easier to read. -Patek chronograph 130 (vintage) This is just a dream, and I think it will stay one. This try was one of the best horlogical moment I ever had. I have found another interesting chronograph with the Breguet 3237 a lot of charm and personnality. I have to try the old rattrapante of Breguet. -Lange 1815 Moonphase Platinum: just a dream too -Patek 5131 J Worldtime: and another one -Blancpain Air Command (vintage from the 50s): hope for an "hommage", the true one is much rarer and impossible to find than any other on the list.
So many watches, and so little money...

From VC: 1) QdI Palladium Time/Date Only model (photo from Alex) 2) Jubilee 1755 RG (photo 'borrowed' from Schileo)... 3) Overseas Chrono SS/Ti (photo again from Alex) 4) American 1921 2 non-VC watches: 1) This one is really a dream, it will be ages before I can afford to spend that much money on a watch... but what a watch (and I saw it in the metal at Salon QP...): De Bethune Dream 1: (forget where the picture came from, but definitely not from me) 2) my favorite 'pimp-daddy' watch, the ROO RBII Ti 3) Montblanc Rieussec Chrono: great (Value + Soul)/price ratio (photo from Mike at the Purists) Cheers, Francois
