Who did say that?

Dera Loungers,

I written many posts about Vacheron&Constantin through the years, I even made a manuscript for a book,

but that has thankfully been destroyed.

I just didn't have the time, so instead of writing something mediocre, I abstained.

That's also one of the reasons I been on a long 'time out' from The Hour Lounge, if you don't have anything of interest to write - abstain.

I always liked writing about other things, mostly with some connection to time, which this Forum is all about smiley

My main interst in reading, which I do for about 4-5 hours a day, are history, especially the last century,

and biographies / memoires from the same period.

Sounds dull?

It's more intersting and fun than you probably ever could  imagine!

Now I think I have come up with an idea, and a header to publish under,

since I aim to do this with some regularity, if you and Alex accept it!

Who did say that?

Today I'll will tell you, who doesn't already know, about one of the most used expressions:

"Business as usual".

Who did say that?

It was my one and only hero, through my whole life, Winston S. Churchill, 100 years ago, at a speech at Guildhall (London) November 9 1914.

The exact phrase was: "The maxim of the English people is Business as usual"

There you are, with some more "waste knowledge" laugh

Hamish my friend,

Please let me make it clear from the beginning, that my 'corner' will not be a Readers' Queries!!

This because I will try to comment quotes that are in common use today,

which Nelson's words hardly are laugh
