I have witnessed prices appreciating and relatively difficult to collect pieces.

The 1933 Constant Force clock also did very well last month, at just under $275k

and wait to see what I'll show you tomorrow :-)

No surprise to see such a phenomenal piece sell for a record...
06/09/2011 - 18:30

I would have been surprised if it did not sell for much higher than the estimate range. For a piece of this quality, beauty, and rarity I think that $374,000 was a good price for the proud new owner.cheeky

The 1933 clock is also an incredible masterpiece, no doubt.

Best,

Mike

As much as I like the Repeating QP with the tear drop lugs...

I find this to be the most beautiful example of that complication that VC has made.....unless you want to add a  tourbillon and make it a Traditionnelle Caliber 2755, which completely blows me away (as well it shold at twice the price!)

the Malte Minute repeater QP was...

pretty close in design but unfortunately did not have that achingly beautiful engraved moonphase

Isn't that platinum Malte MR QP for a particular market?
06/09/2011 - 19:16

And I agree about the engraved moonphase taking the deBoule watch over the top. Funny that they aren't even a VC dealer any longer.

I think it was originally made for the boutique in Kiev but it was

decided to make it available worldwide to all VC boutiques once the crisis hit!

yikes, that probably over what retail was at the time! Congrats to the

lucky owner
Very happy to see it

sell so well, and appropriate for such a fabulous and rare watch.

For balance, what would it have achieved if it had been made in a series of a few hundred though?
