Who was Pompe?

Pompe was born way back in 1999, March 5th. Here he is very young smiley

Who was Pompe?

He was a real little hooligan, he litterally ate our shoes, no, not the whole shoes but the insides! He liked to chew the insoles!

I still have a pair of my ex favourite sailing shoes, Henri Llloyd, very nice on the outside but no insole, no not even an inch of one!

When we came home to Karo, the 'Big Yellow', as everbody called him, he was big,

we looked in both dog's papers and it showed that Karo's father, was the father

to Pompe as well!

Yes a yellow or a black labrador can get a brown, yellow or a black labrador.

Labrador genetic short lesson:

Who was Pompe?

Svart=black   brun=brown   gul=yellow

So by coincidence, bought from different estates, we had a big brother, Karo born 1990 and a little brother Pompe, 9 years younger!

They were happy for about four years until Karo went to the happy hunting grounds in the kitchen, when Pompe, my wife and I were sitting there.

Then happened one of the most unbelievable things that ever happened to me.

I witnessed a transmigration, I never thought it possible but I have witnessed it!

Instantly Pompe became Karo, but in black suit! He became grown up, stopped chewing shoes, and more, his physiognomy changed.

His head became wider and he got a snub nose!

It's true!

From this nose (this is Winston but he looked the same)

to this, Pompe is here 6 year old, two years after Karo left us. As long as that I kept calling him Karo by misstake!

After some months we got Winston and this time it showed that they had a common Grandfather smiley

They became inseparable mates and has had so much fun through the years.

You seen pics before

And alaways together, here Pompe is resting on Winston's back smiley

The last walk with both dogs...

Pompe slowly limping after his little brother who is waiting for him (!)...

Now two weeks later Winston has started his transforming!

He can lay outside uncoupled for hours and he is very craving for affection - which he get tons of, of course laugh

Who was Pompe?

Please notice his elegant crossed frontlegs, he always lie like that, shows his class laugh

Who was Pompe?

I hope he will have a buddy soon, I'm only waiting for my wife to say the timely words!

Next time (!) perhaps I write about some horological stuff, like everyone else cool

Enjoy life,

Doc & Winston

I love reading about Karo, Pompe and Winston.  I am amazed by the transformation in Pompe and now Winston.

My own Kuma (brown Lab) sits with his paws crossed just like Winston.  "Classy" is not, however, a word I would think of to describe Kuma.  laugh

I look forward to hearing if and when Winston gets a new companion...

Best regards,

Robert

small next to him. All I can say is that Pompe definitely had a good life with a great family. I always say about my cats that they are not my cats I'm just their human cheeky

And Winston looks very dapper!

Reminds me of a saying I heard...

Dogs have masters.  Cats have staff.

Thanks Doc

I enjoyed seeing and reading about Pompe. This morning my own dog 'Buddy' (6 month old blue Rhine cocker spaniel) was missing. We returned from taking the kids to swimming lessons and he was no where to be found.I was immediately overtaken by feelings of apprehension and dread.Luckily he had just dug under a fence (looking for me) near the garage and had got out.My neighbor found him and locked him up untill he saw me.Very lucky. The point of the story is that we are all blessed by these special animals and it isn't util they are gone that we realize how special they are!I will look forward to seeing your new addition in due course.
Luck for you!

Yes when they are gone you miss them, especially when you only have one dog!

Since way back we always have had two dogs, because when you have one dog and he has gone to the happy hunting grounds,

you hear his paws for months. And you never heard them when he was around!

Take care of your Spaniel, I have had the pleasure of having 3 English Springer Spaniels!

Lovely, or should I say lively, temperament laugh

Enjoy life,
