Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

Because I'm hooked !

20 years ago I didn't get it all,
30 years ago we through several pieces including a beautiful ceiling lamp,
when we refurnished!
Guess we regretted that Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)
Now I have shrinked my collecting to Vacheron&Constantin only art deco from 1919-1939.,
as I written many times.

The spin-off effect is that I more and more,
or rather my wife and I , gets more intersted in nearly everything from these period.

My wife was in New York 2 weeks ago and managed to take these beautiful pics from the Chrysler Building Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

Which is the ultimate American Art Deco building!

Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

There is a FANTASTIC book about this building, from the first dig,
to a complete sky scraper, in black and white colours, from the period
taken during the completing of this piece of art Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

Why always this art deco? Warning, not a watch :-)

The most amazing about this book, is that the author found a box, filled with these pics,
in an old shop just before they were going to throw them away !

To everyone who is intersted, I strongly recommend this book,
that I have been looking over and over again through the years!

me the most is how wll the designs have aged and how modern they still look 70-80 years after.

Doc, I had a client in the Chrysler building and when I went to visit them I would stand in the lobby in for 10-15 minuts in absolute awe. This link has one of the better pictures of the lobby I have seen.http://www.bizbash.com/newyork/content/editorial/e8748.php Regards, Ray
Glad you liked it!

There is a awful lot to learn by reading, it doesn't have to be just about watches. BTW good books about watches are realitively few, compared to the big intersest ! I'll be back Cheers Doc
