Wristshot DTR from today(!) and a tip, especially for Hatari!

Dear Hatari,

I fresh wristshot of my DTR from today, please check time and date!

Wristshot DTR from today(!) and a tip, especially for Hatari!

Sorry not so sharp, in fact a lousy pic, but the important in this message is,

that you can always find a place to hide a new Vacheron Constantin, for a while,

until the right moment appears to reveal it!

Perhaps your wife has bought something unnecessary :-)

This guy has been a true fellow !

Wristshot DTR from today(!) and a tip, especially for Hatari!

Cheers

Doc

You are a very, very bad man...

LOL! Looks like that bear has had some run ins with a couple of large black dogs. Is that your suturing? Rest assured, it will be a year end purchase. I think it's gorgeous and I'll post pics when I do get it.
Doc you should do like me, always take away one zero from
04/28/2007 - 17:03

the price of the watch when you tell you're wife of your new purchase!

Another way of getting around is just strap the watch on your wrist and when your wife asks you about it just look surprised and say "what? c'mon you've seen this watch before...I just changed the strap" However, I don't yet have the answer when she slaps you while screaming something about moving back to her mother's with the kids! :-)

Just did that yesterday!
04/28/2007 - 17:38

Changed strap!

You will soon se it!

Doc

you're evil :-) (nt)
04/28/2007 - 19:16

e

Yes I'm a rotten guy :-)
04/28/2007 - 17:42

But on the other hand you will be a lucky one.

The suturing is done long ago by my mother,

I suppose it wasn't a dog who damaged it...

Looking forward to see some nice pics :-)

Doc

I have to correct myself!
04/30/2007 - 14:39

My daughter is home for some days, from her university studies,

and she confessed that she was the one, who had done the suturing of the Bear :-)

As a doc I feel it necessary to spread the truth, it wasn't my mother, she was much better,

and this was done when my daughter was much younger than now :-)

But I also admit that at the first major operation I assisted,

a kidney transplantation(!), I sewed the stiches in the skin,

and it wasn't far from this !

I still think the patient believed it was as bad all way in :-)

Doc

But why this bear is sad ?
05/01/2007 - 02:57

He has the watch of Vacheron Constantin so should be happy !.

:-)

LOL !!
05/01/2007 - 10:28

I think he only try to look cool,

like VC owners often does :-)

Just a precision measuring device required for medical consultations...

I've tried it, sometimes it works. It depends on how convincing you are.

but your comment about announcing it at the appropriate time is most apt. That I have used as well wiith much better success :-)

Regards,

Joseph

Joseph, nice to meet a real connoisseur:-)

I think this thread can lead to very valuable knowledge!

It's an important part of our obsess.., sorry serious engagement,

as collectors, to deal our experiences between us :-)

After all, we are doing a fine thing for humanity,

keeping ourselves happy :-)

Cheers

Your comments made me laugh out loud!

I find the most appropriate time to be after my wife has returned from shopping for clothes at one of the higher end retailers here. Its hard to call the kettle black when you're loaded with shopping bags. And of course "everything looks lovely, dear"

Although I never disclose the true cost of the watch until several month after the fact, after she's had a chance to see how beautiful it is.

But I shouldn't be harsh, she's paying for my trip to Switzerland  (TimeZone tour) as a birthday gift. (Dare I say it...the dreaded six-zero!! )

Best Wishes,

Joseph

To me you dare say.
04/29/2007 - 14:47

I will reach the six-zero next year,

buth hopefully we still got many months,

sorry, years, I hope, to have fun :-)

Cheers,

and I don't congratulate you,

after five-zero it's downhill, fast :-)

but I have to admit he looks a bit proud.

Doesn't he ?

Doc

:-)
04/29/2007 - 21:44

Haha, yes he sure does - and I understand him! No average Teddys wears VC! I guess he have a pretty good life as a retired Teddy for a VC collector :-)
