Write up on the 1st The Hour Lounge dinner in Paris

Last night a group of 17 Loungers gathered to celebrate the very first The Hour Lounge event: a fun evening of good food, fine wines, superb watches but most of all fantastic company.

The dinner took place in the private salons of Richemont's headquarters in Paris (all the ladies knew where it was since right next to Hermes Write up on the 1st The Hour Lounge dinner in Paris). Surprisingly everyone was very punctual....not a very Parisian habit!!

Re: Great report. Any meeting in Asia?
09/12/2007 - 14:38

Thank you Alex for such a wonderful report.

IMO, this type of meeting is a great oppotunity to see VC lovers, and get to know VC better.

I really wanted to join, but Paris is so far from where I live.

I wonder if VC has a plan to hold a silimar meeting in Asia as well.

Never say never! It would be great to get the Loungers together at
09/12/2007 - 19:27

different locations.

Who knows?

Looks like a great party but where are u Alex?

Are you wearing your vintage chrono?

I posted one below :-) but sorry I did not have one with the whole

No vintage chrono for me, still a bit hot here so all vintage are

stored away. But one of the Loungers was wearing a gorgeous vintage tear drop lug chrono is steel from the 40s!

Thanks for the great photo report, Alex
09/12/2007 - 17:10

I must admit, as much as I enjoyed the watches, it was very nice to see the faces behind the familiar names.  I wish I could have made it.

Of the watches shown, I particularly liked the vintage chrono, the mercator and the malte chrono RG & excellence platine.  Despite its simplicity, the RG contemporaine manual wind was just as stunning though.  Will definitely have to get one!!

I agree with Taku, hopefully there will be a similar event in Asia (particularly in Japan, I hope)

Cheers.

Now I know why none of you wore the "good stuff"...

They had it there. BTW, where did you put the Black Box?  Best, Miki

The big black box would unfortunately not fit in

my pocket, if it had I would be the happy owner of a Masques set

Hi Guys!
09/12/2007 - 21:06

It seems that you guys are having good time there. I wish next time I'd be around to be part of the party!

It's very nice to see some familiar names with pictures. But someone is missing! Or he's too drunk to be presentable, as always? :-)

Warmest greetings,

Jian

Wow, looks like a great event. The waches looked great...
09/12/2007 - 21:22

I just wish I lived closer so I could have attended (I'm in the USA). But thank you for sharing your wonderful evening with those of us who could not be there.

Best regards,

Dino

Re: Wow, looks like a great event. The waches looked great...
09/12/2007 - 23:56

I must say Dino, it was a real GREAT event, and a good opportunity, not only to see closely some wonderful watches, but also to introduce and meet some Loungers.

I hope to share this kind of event another time.

All the best

Patrice

Thanks Alex and thanks Vacheron !
09/13/2007 - 00:28

Thanks a lot Alex for this great report and of course for the perfect organization od this beautiful event. And of course thanks a lot too to Vacheron, especially to Jean-Yves and Josephine.

Like the others loungers, I was very proud to attend the first Hour Lounge Dinner !

Here are 2 shots but of course I will post more :

These watches symbolise perfectly the brand : they are timepieces and pieces of art at the same time.

Nice shots Fred ; thx for the input. The one with the congolese mask is definitely my favourite among the Masks collection. A wonderful tribute to this art that has inspired many modern artists.

Thanks Fred for these nice shots !
