You asked, I promised and here are some pics...

of the Malte Black Tourbillon..

These pictures were actually taken a year or two ago by Mervin Chua to accompany an article that I wrote about the watch.  In my opinion, these are the best photos that I have seen of this watch.  I hope that you enjoy the photos.

What a beast what a beauty, what an amazing and exciting watch

Alex had already posted some pics of this shooting of your watch, thank you very much for these additional pics Duncan!!

This watch is a real success, mixing perfectly the classicism of the case with the modernism of the finishing

I hope that I would have one day the opportunity to see it in the flesh in your wrist!

Thanks again for sharing

my week end satisfaction index just hit the roof! I love the way VC
06/01/2008 - 19:59

has managed to put together traditional watch making techinques to make some thing so contemporary.

Wear it in the best of health Duncan and thanx for sharing.

Hahaha... That was pretty much the reaction...

last year when I was wearing the watch to the manufacture.  The watchmakers were very eager to see it and I think there was a lot of satisfaction on their part to see this example of their hard work and terrific skills.

By the way Alex, I hear that there might be an opportunity for you to see it in person later this year...

yes, its about time we started organising Hour Lounge events in more

You really have good sources

Well, Singapore is the Geneva of the Far East...
06/02/2008 - 16:35

One only needs to look at the various forums to see that Singapore has become a favorite location for watch events.

As for my sources, I will never give them up.

I will say it again - this is my all time favorite among VC Tourbillons

Amazing how VC can merge and blend tradition and heritage with modern materials and design. That's what I love most about my one and only watch manufacture...

Thanks guys for your comments...

but I must say that it is the watch that truly deserves the accolades.

I wholeheartedly agree with the comments about this piece perfectly blending the classical with the contemporary and in this regard, I viewed it as the precursor to the Quai de l'Ile.  When I got this watch, I remember hoping that this was an indication of what was to come from VC and now they have delivereed!

Super watch!! and great photography too!

As Alex wrote on Feb 18 this year:

"This watch was made in 2006 for the Singapore and Kuala Lumpur Vacheron Constantin Boutiques."  Only 3 watches were made.  Absolutely stunning & extraordinary.  You are a lucky man, Duncan, to have such a wonderful masterpiece.  May you wear it always in good health!

Outstanding watch!
