You know your'e a Vacheronista when...

You're in an airport lounge, minding your own business with your head in a newspaper...and you all of a sudden you recognize the music from  VC's video clip about the World Timer.

I look up, lo an behold, the video clip starts to play on all the screens in the lounge (followed by the cak 2253 video)!  It's definitely not as nice as our Hour Lounge, but it is a VC world, and I love it!

There is no doubt in your case.  smiley

You are obviously traveling in better airports than I do.  But that would make traveling much better.

Best,

Robert

The airport might be newer, but the subway is CRAZY right now

I will take an express train from the airport at times to the center of Beijing, which is also a subway station.  But due to new security guidelines at nine of the major subway stations (making them more similar to airport security)...the scenes look like this:

The airport might be newer, but the subway is CRAZY right now

The airport might be newer, but the subway is CRAZY right now

10 million people use the BJ subway on a daily basis.  To make things worse, we are now in the middle of a heat wave and temps are 39C-41C (102F-106F)

(I am SO glad my wife picked me up at the airport) :-)

saw this on news the other day, just crazy!!

You've just taken the word WIS to

a whole different level :-)

I wish my primary airline had a relationship with VC...

however, they seem to be partnered in some way with another manufacture.  There seem to be a lot of octoganal clocks hanging around with the "wrong" two letters on them.

Hi Dan et al

I really don't like the idea of putting my VC into a basket at airport security and waiting for it to - hopefully - appear again at the other side.

Dave

i usually carry a travel case in my carry-on backpack or briefcase

And put my watch in that before going through security.  I have pre-check in the US, which makes things a little easier.

What do others do?

That is a good idea! And you've given me a dastardly clever idea: My watch fits beatuifully into an eye-glasses case; I'll put it in there and then in my carry-on.

Thank you,

Dave

Hi Dan

I just recieved a pair of microfibre gloves by courier from VC in Geneva. Does this mean that I can now dismantle my watch to see how it works?

Dave

SURE YOU CAN, but...

If any problems occur, don't expect VC to cover it under warranty!!!wink

Tch! And I even bought screwdrivers and stuff...LOL

I'm a piano technician by trade and used to do a lot of concert tuning and regulating - which is, in many ways, similar - but on a larger scale. I know a lot about pianos and not much at all about watches; I'll watch the videos.

I find them fascinating...
