Re: KALISTA(View entire thread)March 8, 08 20:22 KALLISTA which means "THE MOST BEAUTIFUL" in Greek was produced as a single watch in 1979. It was designed by Raymond Moretti. It was considered the most expensive watch ever made (in 1979), consisting of 118 emeral-cut diamonds weighing 130 carats (a bit heavy on wrist, I think). The case, dial and bracelet were of yellow gold. It had a very thin movement, possibly the 1003 but I'm not sure.. The dial had dauphine hands. Beleive it or not it is a man's watch! Here's a scan:
In 1993 Vacheron made another diamond-encrusted watch called the Kalla Pagoda with 108 emerald cut diamonds on white gold with a weight of 65 carats and in 1998 there was another version called the Lady Kalla (Ref: 17701) with the same number of diamonds but a slightly different design. These were both women's watches
