Answer on the use of the Maltese cross on the crowns of VC watches(View entire thread)June 21, 07 11:06 Recently there was a question on the date Vacheron Cosntantin started using the Maltese cross logo on its crowns. Even though I had seen certain watches from the 40s and many starting from the 60s with the logo it turns out that these crowns were not the original ones!
In the 1990s the brand started using the Maltese cross emblem on its crown for all its models on a regular basis, nevertheless this emblem was sometimes used one off on pre 1990 pieces such as the 222 which was launched on 1977!
Here is the Maltese cross emblem used only on the 250th anniversary models:
