Good morning and happy New Year. Its a little sleepy here today in Colorado snow country after a late night celebration with friends. Wanted to wish you and your families a very happy and healthy New Year. Hoping that all my HL friends will receive their new additions for 2009 from their wish lists. I have enjoyed this past year talking with you from all around the world and many new places for me. Like the others have said, I wish for all of our fellow Loungers a wonderful 2009.  While 2008 has been a challenging one for many people around the world, let's hope that the new year brings better times for everyone.

As always, we remain grateful to you Alex for your continued fine efforts in providing us with this place to enjoy some good watch discussion and an opportunity to temporarily forget some of the other troubles that we all face in our lives.

A great year 2009 for your Alex and for all of the VC and HL family.

As Duncan put it, let's hope this year will see less violence (while it has started out quite badly on many fronts around the world), that Man will be intelligent enough to understand that we more alike than we are different, that those going through rough times will finally find peace of mind and see their situation get better.

As for Doc who was asking for a little more positivity in another thread, we have in France (I don't know if there are equivalents in other countries) an association called "Reporters de l'Espoir" (Reporters of Hope), an news agency which specializes in solutions-oriented news (not just the bad, terrible, catastrophic news we are all used to). Let's hear about the positive once in a while
