1st photos of the elusive Quai de l'Ile Tantalum/Palladium(View entire thread)November 17, 09 10:05 Here it is! The very 1st photos of the 100 piece tantalum/palladiun automatic date Quai de l'Ile. Its so fresh out of the assembly ateliers that the watchmakers didn't even have time to put a strap on the watch before I stole it for my shots  .The idea was that following the success of the unique tantalum case / palladium flanks QDI made for the Only Watch auction in Monte Carlo in sept (sold for euro 50k) the designers at VC came out with another version wîth palladium case and tantalum bezzel and flanks. Made in only 100 pieces (the limitation is due to the fact that tantalum is so complicated to mill - adding to an already complicated QDI case - that the case maker couldn't pull it off), VC will donate 1000 francs for each sale to research against muscular distrophy. The new tantalum/palladium model. On a side note I have to admit that it is really complicated to catch the bueish tint of tantalum in the photos.
