The book I strongly can recommend is, "Winston Churchill As I Knew Him",
by Violet Bonham Carter, who was daughter to the Liberal Prime Minister H. H. Asquith,
who was Prime Minister from 1908 to 1916, which means during WWI.
She and Winston were very close friends, remember WSC started as a liberal.
He was as a son in the Asquith's house.
She is the only one except for Winston,
who tells the true story about the Gallipoli expedition (Dardanelles).

If not read it's a must. Second time I read it.

I have a lot of WSC's production, which is enormous,
and I'm privileged to have many first editions.
He always fascinates me, every time I read something new or re-read my books
This one, Winston, is namned after him

Cheers
