I do agree with you that

August 29, 08 12:06 the previous QP Malte chrono was more sporty/agressive/manly... It is hard to put into words, but it had a certain "hmmph".
I also was heart-broken when I learned that it was being discontinued. And the first time I saw the EP QP Malte chrono, I wasn't too pleased (I must say that it wasn't a really good shot, and it didn't put the watch under its best light), the watch indeed had lost its "hmmph".

The approach on the new model IMO is more an ecclectic mix of elegant/modern industrial/art deco. A different approach, but one that I have come to love more than the previous model. To each his own I guess! In fact, in a post I wrote a while back in which I was comparing both models, I was saying that I wished that VC would have retained the hour markers and the square pushers. Having had time to look at my watch for the last few months, I don't think I would change a thing on it now. Even though I still prefer the hour markers and pushers from the 47112, I think that VC did the right thing to change them on this model, they would have clashed with the style/spirit of the watch. The only other hour markers that might have looked better would have been the ones from the Malte QP Retrograde...

Thanks for your comments Deniz, I am in heaven everyday (the honeymoon is far from over!!!).
